It's the 10th anniversary of the Natick Innovation & Learning Summit (NILS2024). Designed to be an engaging and fun, full day of professional learning for Natick educators. The innovative sessions are designed to grow professional practice and promote wellness and community.Schedule:
We have changed the schedule a bit from last year to bring back a Wellness Fair and staff Wellness Classes during the afternoon (Sessions 4 and 5). This gives staff time for lunch and time to take a midday wellness class or to visit with the health and wellness providers that will be on site. See workshops on sched.com.
6:30 AM - 7:30 AM - Optional before conference Health & Wellness Workshops (60 minutes)
8:00 AM - 9:15 AM - Session 1 Workshops (75 minutes)
9:25 AM - 10:40 AM - Session 2 Workshops (75 minutes)
10:50 AM - 12:05 PM - Session 3- Workshops (75 Minutes)
12:10 PM - 12:45 PM - Session 4- Lunch 1/Wellness Sessions & Fair (35 Minutes)
12:50 PM - 1:25 PM - Session 5 - Lunch 2/Wellness Sessions & Fair (35 Minutes)
1:30 PM - 3:00 PM - Session 6 - PLC Work Time (90 Minutes)
Sessions Open to Staff to Create Schedules on Wednesday, October 23rd at 5 PM
Attendees will be invited via an email from Sched.com to log into the NILS2024 Event website at https://nils2024.sched.com/ to create a schedule for the day. Note: You will be unable to select schedules until the schedule opens at 5 PM on Wednesday, October 23rd as all sessions are locked until then.
Natick staff are required to select workshops for sessions 1-3 and session 6 (PLC time).

Belonging Based Practices with Dr. Darnisa Amante-Jackson
All Natick educators are required to attend the district featured session with Dr. Darnisa Amante-Jackson, a nationally-recognized educator and strategist. Dr. Jackson will lead sessions centered on equity and psychological safety and focused on building capacity in teaching through belonging-based practices and cultural relevance. Sessions will support teachers across grade levels. (Session 1 - Middle School, Session 2 - PK/Elementary School, Session 3 - High School, Session 6 - Administrators and PL Coaches)
Attendees should select a Box Lunch option that appears on the schedule at 12:06 PM. This is important so that our food services staff know how many lunches to make of each type.
Optional Sessions are the 6:30 -7:30 AM Wellness workshops and the Wellness workshops during the lunch blocks (Sessions 4-5). We planned the lunch blocks (70 minutes) so that attendees have time to eat lunch and visit either the wellness fair tables or take a wellness workshop if desired.
FAQ: What if I do not receive an invite from Sched.com to log in? All staff emails are loaded into Sched.com from PowerSchool which serve as the basis for the invite. If you do not receive an email invite by noon on Wednesday, October 23rd, please email Grace Magley at gmagley@natickps.org.
FAQ: How do I select my sessions in Sched.com once I log in? Once logged in, you simply check the radio button for the workshop you choose per session for each time period. Note: The system will not let you pick two workshops in the same time period.
