Fundamentals of Self-Defense Taught by Joe Guidice (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt) and Nicholas DiAntonio (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Blue Belt), this 35-minute seminar will focus on the basics of self-defense. Beginning with a 5-10 minute warm-up on the mats, the focus will then shift to self-defense instruction centered on: 1) Creating space between you and your attacker, 2) Basic takedown mechanics should an altercation escalate, and finally 3) A few basic submissions to allow for you to subdue your attacker in order to provide a means of getting away from the situation. No experience is necessary, and this session will take place on the wrestling mats in the back quadrant of the high school gymnasium. Wear comfortable clothing - tee-shirts and gym shorts!
